Taiwanese LED experts predict that revenue will generally increase by 20% in 2015

From the upstream epitaxy factory Epistar, to the leading downstream packaging factory Everlight, and the one-stop supplier Lextar, LED manufacturers are optimistic about the industry boom in 2015, and said that most manufacturers' revenue growth expectations for next year will start from 20%.

The demand for LED lighting has doubled, and LED manufacturers have also fully benefited. Major international manufacturers have successively introduced WCG high-rendering color gamut applications into their flagship models this year, including mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. It is expected that more brands and models will feature WCG backlight next year.

The LED industry will have a number of new products coming to the market next year, including Samsung's high-end TV models that will all adopt flip-chips, which will benefit Epistar and New Century; the demand for small-pitch indoor signage will rise, benefiting Everlight, which has a high market share, and will place an order with Epistar.

Li Bingjie, Chairman of Epistar, pointed out that Epistar’s growth momentum next year includes LED lighting, small-pitch LEDs for display screens, and flip-chips. This year, the global demand for LED lighting will be approximately 1 to 1.5 billion units, which will double to more than 2.5 billion units next year. Epistar’s large market share will naturally benefit.

In terms of small-pitch LEDs for display screens, since the pitch is only 1.2mm, a 100-inch display screen can already achieve the effect of HDTV. Epistar's customer demand has doubled from 200 million units this year to 500 million units next year.

Longda has the effect of Cree's shareholding, which is expected to appear in the first quarter of next year. The gross profit margin of orders is better than the current orders from major international OEMs in Longda. It is expected that the gross profit margin will rise in 2015.

It is understood that Lextar will add 4 American and 8 to 10 European lighting customers in 2015. Among them, bulb lamps will have the largest increase, followed by lamp tubes and flat panel lamps. Lextar estimates that LED bulb shipments next year will reach 40 million to 50 million units, more than double this year's volume.

Everlight Chairman Ye Yinfu also said that Everlight will have three main growth axes next year, including small-pitch indoor signage, LED lighting and LEDTV backlighting. Among them, for the small-pitch indoor signage, after the current expansion of production, Everlight's monthly production capacity has expanded from 100 million units to 500 million units.

Wu Qinghui, chairman of Dongbei Optoelectronics, said that most LED factories have delivered good profit results this year, and there will be more LED lighting applications next year. For most LED factories, next year will have a brighter report card. It is understood that Dongbei has received additional orders for LED bulbs from large supermarkets in the United States, and its monthly shipments have doubled from 2 million to 5 million.
